The Hard Savings Society

Yet we must save more of our oldest reserve, we must learn to balance trust and power; we must sing the economy of saving grace, we must continue that song and not stop saving.”
— Sidney Wade, Bird Book

The Hard Saving Society is an initiative started by Alachua Conservation Trust in 2024 to promote and celebrate planned giving among ACT donors. Planned giving is increasingly becoming a more highly sought-after tool by which donors can achieve their philanthropic passions.

Planned giving gives participants a means to leave a legacy, affords various types of tax benefits, and opens the door to donors of virtually every level of financial status.

Donors have many different reasons why they’re Hard Savers:

“Whatever isn’t conserved in Florida will be developed.”

“…Everyone is happy and peaceful when they live in a garden.”

“Ultimately, I trust ACT to use my donated funds wisely, but in my heart of hearts, my goal is to preserve large swaths where wildlife can be protected, free from hunting, and land is open and accessible for public access in a responsible and respectable way.”

Alachua Conservation Trust has a free guide that walks you through the different types of planned giving that you can view and download here.
