Morning Bug Walk

Join Dr. Hulcr and Dr. Lucky for this family-friendly bug ID event at Tuscawilla Preserve!

Dr. Jiri Hulcr and Dr. Andrea Lucky are leading this walk. Dr. Hulcr is the resident Forest Entomologist in the School of Forest Resources & Conservation at the University of Florida, and Dr. Lucky is an evolutionary biologist and biodiversity scientist in the Department of Entomology & Nematology at the University of Florida.

WHAT TO BRING

Sun protection, water, and a sense of adventure. You will likely get your feet wet, so good footwear is advisable.

Meet at:
Micanopy Native American Heritage Preserve parking lot (across the street from trailhead).

Directions to Micanopy Native American Heritage Preserve

From Interstate 75 exit 374, Micanopy, follow CR 234 east for 0.6 mile to NW Seminary Avenue. Turn right and drive 0.7 mile through this historic residential district to NE Cholokka Boulevard, which is flanked by the historic downtown. Turn right and continue along the road as it leaves town and continues 0.5 mile to the parking area on the left.

The parking area is also just 0.3 mile west of US 441 along SE Tuscawilla Rd.
