Alachua Conservation Trust to Celebrate the 2022 Conservation Stewards Awards at Prairie Creek Lodge on March 19th

March 15, 2022

Gainesville, Florida – Following last year’s virtual event, Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) is pleased to announce that this year’s Conservation Stewards Awards (CSAs) will take place in person, outside at Prairie Creek Lodge on March 19th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 p.m.

This annual celebration honors individuals in the community who are influential in a wide variety of ways, such as the arts, historic preservation, and particularly, in protecting local wildlife and natural resources. Past CSAs have been the largest gatherings of community leaders and supporters of wild Florida in the region.

The theme of this year’s event, “Leaving a Legacy of Land,” highlights the history of Florida’s current generation of landowners and land stewards. Through their devotion to preserving the undeveloped natural land they own, they have ensured that Florida’s environment will remain wild for generations to come. These landowners have forged a deep connection to Florida’s grasslands, forests, rivers, springs, swamps and creeks, and their decision to safeguard their land through conservation will have a profound impact that stretches beyond their lifetimes.

ACT is pleased to announce that this year’s honorees include Sara Eoff, K.M. Eoff and Judy Smith. More than 450 guests will gather outside Prairie Creek Lodge to honor them for their invaluable contributions to protecting and preserving local lands.

In addition to an awards ceremony, this year’s CSAs will include a cocktail hour, dinner, silent auction, drawing of chance and live musical performance by bluegrass artist Michael Claytor.

An original oil painting by Linda Blondheim awaits the lucky winner of ACT’s drawing of chance. The 16-by-20 inch acrylic painting of a beautiful Florida landscape is bordered by a charcoal wood frame and has an estimated value of $1,100.

Proceeds from the drawing and the CSA event will support ACT’s mission to protect the natural, historic, scenic and recreational resources in and around North Central Florida.

Press are invited to attend this event. To attend, please contact ACT at Info@AlachuaConservationTrust.org or (352) 373-1078.
