Alachua Conservation Trust to Host Young Leaders For Wild Florida Fall Fest

September 25th, 2023

Gainesville, Florida – The Alachua Conservation Trust (“ACT”) is hosting the Young Leaders for Wild Florida Fall Fest event from 11am – 3 pm on Saturday, September 30th at 4th Avenue Food Park in Gainesville.  The event celebrates the Young Leaders for Wild Florida program and ACT’s 35th Anniversary.  Community groups will be on site with information on environmental topics such as native and invasive plants, recycling, prescribed burns, combating pollution and springs conservation.  Live music, conservation games, animal encounters and local vendors will engage attendees in this family-oriented event that is free and open to the public.

Young Leaders for Wild Florida is an environmental leadership program for Alachua County youth between the ages of 16-19.  The program exposes participants to the outdoors and natural settings to provide an understanding of environmental issues and the importance of conservation. Participants develop both a connection with nature and appreciation for the environment.

“ACT and the Young Leaders for Wild Florida are so excited to put this event on and have fall fun with the community! An exciting and special way to celebrate 35 years of ACT’s conservation work!” says ACT Conservation Events Coordinator, Ema Olmos.
